Where to Donate

Your local area library can accept small donations of 3 banker boxes or less. For larger donations, please drop at the Central Library at 4100 Virginia Beach Blvd in the back receiving area.

 

We Gladly Accept

New and Gently-used

• Books on all subjects, of all ages, in a condition that will sell

• DVDs

• Audio books on CD

• Comic Books and Graphic Novels

• Unique Antique Collectible and/or Signed Books are desirable donations

 

WE CANNOT ACCEPT

Items in poor condition (stains, damage, smells, mold, dirty, excessively yellowed pages or evidence of bugs)

• VHS tapes

• Cassette tapes

• Encyclopedias

• National Geographic magazines & books

• Time Life series books

• Reader’s Digest condensed books

• Advanced reader copies

• The following items if more than 5 years old

  • Computer/Program manuals

  • Tax/Finance material

  • Paperback travel guides

  • Textbooks

 

Please follow these guidelines so we can save on recycling and disposal costs therefore allowing us to invest more in our libraries.
